In 2020, Witchy was still developing his style (and his "scary voice"), and I love how this came out style-wise. At some points I find his voice and lyrics here funny and awkward, but in the best sense of both those words.

I've been very curious to get to know Witchy better, and this felt like a great piece of ~lore~.

4 Oceans was an instant add. Harpoon followed as a close second. 40 Years of Rain and Mold .9mm took some time to get used to.

40 Years of Rain uses an awesome sample, but the real highlight is the quote I've put above - fun! Same goes for the sample in Harpoon - that track's chorus sounds like something you'd do a TikTok to, like get a little gun-out-of-pants action on, lure the hoes, yeah? It's just so much fun, so very mischevious. The synth in Mold .9mm is mmmm tasty, and I love how you can hear Witchy smile at some point, and, and - the screaming-ish back vocals just do it for me; such a fun track too - 7gs, I got 7gs, of the ketamine, overdosed, like the 70s, fuck a remedy... yeah.

4 Oceans is such a compelling way to end the EP. I love songs that weigh me down with melancholy, yet lyrically create something other than melancholy - I mean, I'd say the lyrics here come off as reserved, resigned, steady amidst the usual drug-gun-danger chaos. It's like Witchy's giving up - yeah, life's gonna be like this -

Had to keep up wit' the bad luck
...
I keep a knife in my coat
...
I gotta heart made of bone
I keep a Glock on my soul

- yet giving up doesn't mean life ends.

Rewrite my story
I don't want to die like this
Yeah I just wanna shine my wrist
My wrist be pourin'

Does life ever end, really? What he writes now clearly shows that it doesn't. You just rot, break, swarm, evovle and shoot somebody's head off about it, but you never die. I think it's vital that you never die if you are Witchouse 40k.

And it's vital that you have beef with Abercrombie for some reason.
